I’m Austin Lee, the host of UNrattled, a parenting podcast where I talk about the real, messy, and sometimes hilarious side of raising kids. As a dad to two biological kids and two bonus kids, I know firsthand how challenging and rewarding parenting can be. I’ve spent years working with families—as a family pastor and now in early childhood education—helping parents navigate the ups and downs of raising emotionally healthy children.

My parenting philosophy is simple: Healthy parents raise healthy kids. In 2017, I started talk therapy, and it completely changed the way I saw myself, my past, and my parenting. I realized how much I carried with me from my own childhood—things I didn’t fully understand until I became a dad. That experience made me want to be more intentional about teaching my kids the things I wish I had known growing up, like emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience.

I learned early on that kids need things explained in a way they can actually understand, so I started creating games, stories, and simple lessons to help my kids (and myself) navigate the challenges of growing up. I bring that same approach to UNrattled, breaking down big parenting topics into relatable, no-nonsense conversations that help parents feel more confident, less guilty, and better equipped to raise their kids.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers—no one does. But I do believe that staying engaged with your kids, even when it’s hard, makes all the difference. My goal with this podcast is to help parents shake off the guilt, laugh at the missteps, and keep moving forward.
